If you are interested in joining the team, please contact the head coach AHS MTB Head Coach
All students must have an active Sports Physical on file with the AHS Athletics Department to be able to participate with the team.
Do you have to race? No.
All riders are encouraged to race for the team. NICA/VAHS races don't pull riders during regular season races. Mountain bike races are more about challenging yourself and racing against your previous performances. The racing community is extremely supportive and encouraging to all racers.
Do I need to have a bike? Maybe.
The team has a limited number of team bikes that can be used and we can work with you to find a suitable bike for your skill level and needs.
Do I need to already be a good mountain biker? No.
We can work with you to gain the skills to become comfortable mountain biking. You should be comfortable biking and be in generally good physical condition. Mountain biking does require significantly more skill than road biking and is a serious workout. You will learn quickly.
Where are practices? Local public and private Trails
